Around 1850, there was a large variety of historical styles that could be combined with each other in different ways. Neo-rococo is characterized by large-scale medallion patterns and is often used in living rooms. This wallpaper resembles a side damask where the medallions are formed by gnarled branches – a motif that is directly inspired by the 18th century Rococo. The original wallpaper comes from a farm near Flottsund in Uppland, Sweden.
